Exactly What Makes Our Steaks Extraordinary – Long before our steaks meet the Capital Grille Delivery, these are meticulously dry aged on premises for over 18 days to achieve incomparable flavor and texture. Washington DC – A stately building deserving of our nation’s capital, having a stunning view down Pennsylvania Avenue for the Capitol Building itself.
Downtown Chicago – A remarkably grand entrance, located just one block from Chicago’s famed Magnificent Mile shopping district.
Vegas – Modern angles and floor-to-ceiling glass give this excellent location a spectacular take a look at the famous Vegas Strip.
NYC Chrysler – The Trylon Towers, created by the late, renowned contemporary architect Philip Johnson, are a dramatic addition to the Chrysler Building, and the place to find The Capital Grille. The gleaming, seven-story glass and steel pyramid is unlike anything in Manhattan, and just about the most unique dining settings anywhere.
Scottsdale – The building’s design was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, and guests dining on the outdoor patio enjoy a look at a magnificent spire (created by Wright himself), focused on the famous architect.
NYC Wall Street – In the historic Equitable Building, that which was after a mighty bank vault is now the highly coveted Calloway Room – an ideal setting for any private meeting or celebration.
The initial Capital Grille was founded by Ned Grace, in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1990. The opening was curious for many reasons: the upscale steakhouse contrasted with the then-rundown downtown part of Providence, and the opening occurred amidst a continuous recession. Grace envisioned the restaurant being well-liked by business and political elite, and became accurate. Seven years after opening, the initial location pulled in over $4 million in annual sales.
Underneath the leadership of Grace’s Bugaboo Creek Steak House Inc. (the name of Grace’s other chain), the chain expanded to many major markets. By 1996, The Capital Grille Hours Thanksgiving Hours had locations in Washington, D.C. and Boston. In 1997, aided by a $20 million credit dhocys from two banks, it expanded with four more locations. Bugaboo Creek Steak House Inc. went public in 1994, and then changed its name to RARE Hospitality International, Inc. Based on the Washington Business Journal, the chain was acquired by Darden Restaurants as a “element of a $1.19 billion acquisition of RARE Hospitality in 2007.
